OpenUP Blog Competition for Early Career Researchers and Students

Early career researcher or student? Tell us your ideas for the future of review, dissemination or assessment in research and win a scholarship to attend the OpenUP Final Conference in Brussels, September 5th and 6th 2018, and present your ideas!

The EU-funded project OpenUP addresses key aspects and challenges of the currently transforming science landscape, to come up with a cohesive framework for the review-disseminate-assess phases of the research lifecycle that is fit to support and promote Open Science.

To showcase new innovations in research review, dissemination or assessment in research, the OpenUP final conference Opening UP the Research Life Cycle: Innovative Methods for Open Science will take place on September 5th and 6th, Academy Palace, Brussels.

OpenUP is offering three funded scholarships open to early career researchers (i.e, not tenured faculty) and students to attend the conference.

Want to take part? Just tell us in no more than 1000 words, what you think is the most urgent thing that needs to change in how research is reviewed, disseminated or assessed.

This theme is an invitation to answer the question of what concrete benefits can be realized by making scholarly research outputs openly available. Your contribution could concentrate on pressing issues related to responsible research and innovation (e.g., gender equality, science education, ethics), a new service or tool you would like to see, increasing transparency and participation in science, or how you think we can shift the scientific culture to make better use of new methods.

The deadline for submission is 30th May 2018 17.00 CEST Deadline extended! Monday, 2nd July, 2018 17.00 CEST. The programme committee will then select the three winners based on originality and impact and announce the results by 15th June.
